Despite only containing three cars each, classes A and B have provided some absolutely fantastic racing so far this year and the drivers' championship is very much still to play for in both classes with six races remaining.
Class A: The story in class A this year has very much been about the battle between Peter Dendy-Sadler and John Bateman and only twelve points currently split the pair. They've been incredibly close on track this season although most of the success has gone the way of Dendy-Sadler who has seven wins and seven pole positions so far this season, however a DNF in race one at Rockingham has allowed Bateman to stay close in terms of points. Despite not having as much success as Dendy-Sadler, Bateman, who is yet to win this season, lies just twelve points behind the championship leader. Bateman has had a pole position this season so he clearly has the pace to beat Dendy-Sadler and if he can get back to that pace and run at it consistently, he could end up as champion at the end of the year. There is also an interloper to consider in the form of Tim Bennett. While not taking part in the full season, Bennett has scored three wins and been on pole twice - he's fifty nine points behind Dendy-Sadler so it's unlikely he'll win the championship but Bennett can still take crucial points away from the others and play a large role in deciding the outcome of the championship.
Class B: Despite having a strong start to the season, taking the very first win of the year in race one at Snetterton, Kieran White has started to slip back a little bit so Luke Bannister has been escaping out front in the past few races and he currently sits seventy three points clear of second place White. Four wins, five pole positions and five fastest laps have helped Bannister amass his big points lead but White has taken two wins this season, including the aforementioned first race of the year at Snetterton. If White can return to this winning form he could start to challenge for the championship. As with class A, there is a potential interloper. Derek Robinson missed the first four races of the season but since then he's had no fewer than four victories, been on pole twice and set the fastest lap once. He only has ninety nine points so his chance of winning the championship is pretty much non-existent but his consistently high pace means that there should be plenty more wins coming his way this season and that hurts Luke Bannister and Kieran White who both need as many points as possible if they're to outdo each other in the championship.
